I think I was remiss by not introducing myself formally with my first post. My name is Adaire DeCuir and I like candlelit dinners, long walks on the beach, and puppies. Actually, I’m just one of those wackadoodles that bounces around SL and likes to write about it. I have been blogging on Free*Style for a little while now and am thrilled to start for Rezzable. The creativity behind the design of its sims and the unique experiences that Rezzable provides to SL residents is unmatched. I mean really, where else could you go stare down a giant cat and see frolicking little green people while doing so. I think that would normally require some rather illicit drugs.
I actually do like long walks on the beach and it’s no secret that I’m in lurve with the Aloha and Epic sims. I know I should get out more and see new things in other places, but something about the beaches keeps calling me back. I think it’s partly because the beach is where I wish I could be in RL and partly because it’s great place to relax in SL. It’s the antithesis of the usual sim with overcrowded buildings jumbled together. I can almost taste the salt and feel the breeze as I watch the waves roll in.
I also really like fashion (as in, really really really like fashion and spend hours shopping, reading SL fashion blogs, and going to fashion shows). I can’t get enough of it! It seems others can’t either, and I wanted to share a little surf couture a la Surfline’s Beachwear & Board Shop while enjoying all the chillaxin Aloha and Epic have to offer.
And of course, I had to bring The G. I will apologize ahead of time if I talk an inordinate amount about the fellow in my posts. We unfortunately live far apart at the moment and we use SL to spend time with each other. Luckily, he loves fashion too (but in a very “metro” way, he would have me add) and is as big a fan of the beach as I am.
G and I found this cool little hut to spend some time chatting in. That’s all. Just chatting! [grins] G is outfitted in the “Wehiva” white shirt and khaki pants that are both available for $200L each at the Surfline Beachwear & Board Shop. The Reaction thongs in charcoal are priced at $70L. His “Asagi Koi” tattoo is $250L at the Garden of Ku for $250L and his Philotic Energy “Enda” hairstyle is $199 for a 3 color pack. The sunglasses are the “Breeze” style available at Kalnins, and for just $275, they do all sorts of neat things besides look cool perched on his Abyss skin nose. The menu-driven shades provide all kinds of options to change the look of the glasses themselves and such perks as a radar and a surprisingly accurate "chat emotion analyzer" that has your avi making faces based on what you type. How rad is that?

I am sporting the Surfline “Aloha” top and white “Ginger” skirt at $100L each. Being a Free*Style blogger has taught me to score some superfantastic freebies and this Belleza skin is no exception at $0L for group members. The “Courtnay” hair in Blond is a dollarbie (aka $1L) wearable color demo from Philotic Energy. The Kalnins “Crystal VIP” sunglasses are a group gift that is available in-store. The KK Outfitters “Kickers Flippers” are $89L and well-made for the price
We wandered from the hut back to the deck at Aloha and found a cushy couch to stretch out on. The deck area is a great place to hang out at, especially when one of the many parties are happening like the ‘kini contest this past Sunday or when there’s live music. Here’s a shot from the latest Maximillion Kleene concert, with Hostess Kira Larkin, Surfline Manager Jacquie Underwood, the very talented Max himself, DJ Aerlinniel “Aer” Vella, and me and G. I’m wearing the “Hang Ten” dress that’s available for $275L at the shop and G has on the “Catch a Wave” wetsuit ($200L).
As it got a little later, we laid down in the sun-warmed sand to watch some surfers ride the waves and just enjoy the moment. Of course, we wanted to look sexy while sprawled out on the sand, so we picked up some swimwear to do it right. My “Pink Pleasures” ‘kini and his “Manuwai” boardshorts are both available from the Surfline Beachwear & Boardshop for $150L. I also have on Tuli’s “Emily” tanned skin in Sultry ($1,000L) and some kyoot pigtails from DP yumyum in Sesame Black ($120L).
We couldn’t have had a nicer time under the sun. As the sun was setting, we found a quiet spot to watch it. There are actually sunsets in SL, and the one in Aloha couldn’t be more beautiful. Two thumbs up!
Stay tuned for more hijinx-filled shenanigans, provided I can make it out of Aloha. Be sure to check out the details of the upcoming Relay for Life Surfing Contest by clicking on one of the informational signs by the waves – I’ll be there to make a maximum fool out of myself, because hey – it’s all for a good cause.
