Around the Metaverse | sick

If I was to choose a style to wear in SL and stick to it, I would immediately pick a gothic/steampunk look. There's something extremely appealing, for me, in both styles. Maybe it's the music I associated with it and listen to. Or because is how I feel most comfortable in. Or even because I have always been drawn to counter-cultures and alternative life styles. So, what better than an unique style out of the ordinary?

My favourite places to visit in SL will always be post-apocalyptic urban sims, like sick. Most of these sims are in roleplay areas and I am not interested in roleplay... yet! However, I like to visit and wander around seeing all of the chaotic and doomed cities. I do like cities and it makes me curious to see what would happen then. You have to bare in mind that the majority, if not all, of these scenarios are thought to happen in the future and is also quite interesting to see how other peoples' imagine the future.

The what to wear part of the equation could be a thought cookie if there wasn't so many great stores around the grid that offer amazing alternative style clothing. Actually, it is in the more recent SL history that the clothing in SL is not thought-out only for role-playing or between the slutty or goth categories which doesn't necessarily mean that the offer didn't had any quality whatsoever.

While wandering around one of the favourite shopping locations around the grid and checking the latest releases, I came across this suit and promptly clicked to Buy. It is no mystery that Bare Rose, besides having fabulous prices, also offers lots of options for each outfit and the Infiltrator suit comes in three colours. I wanted to wear boots with the suit and the The Abyss Stompers boots seemed the perfect match for it as I couldn't find boots in the same metal tone as the suit. As for the hair, I searched in my Kin folder and found this exclusive (freebie) hair that was offered in last years' Hair Fair and is no longer available to buy.

The skin is what started this look and it's the latest release by Tuli Asturias - the Hope skin in goth makeups and very pale skin tone. Even thought I am not a pale girl, I think this skin rocks and I am not sure if these makeups would work so perfectly in more tanner skin tones.

Just another thing about SL

Just another thing about SL we can all like.  I would never wear some of the things I wear in SL out in RL.  My RL consists of dress clothes for work and Jeans and a T-shirts for the weekends (the occasional skirt in warmer weather).  I also like the builds that some SIM Buiders have done, and it often makes me think if these artist are Architects in real life, cause I would love to have a house designed by some of them.

It find it a real treat to enter in SL and be able to see all the different ideas that people can come up with when it comes to Buildings/cities and clothes.  I find a lot of the fashion in SL is better than what some call "fashion" in RL.  (but this coming form a girl who wears jeans most of the time.  :P  )
