"The pomegranate was an important fruit in Ancient Egypt; it's red color was used for the sun disc crown, and it's many seeds symbolised fertility and plenty." Yes, all true. But it takes a mad kind of genius to be able to translate this into couture. Luckily Sofia London is just that good. (And no, that's not a ball gag in my mouth.)

This is the twelth outfit in Sofia's Fashionable Food Couture Collection and her second with Rezzable. You may remember the amazing "Lost Loves" that she created for the Inspired by Crimson Shadow event in October 2008. With this one she took one of the most sacred foods of the Ancient Egyptians and turned it into one of the most mad and fun outfits I've ever seen. The glory of this one lies in the fact that it has so many interchangeable pieces. As well as the quirky little extras she's included. Such as the mouth pomegranate, and this large cuddle one.

There are two different skirt options, this long gauzy elegant one as well as the bubble skirt in the top picture. There's also several styles of top, and a whole bunch of detachable bits and pieces like the armcuffs in this picture. The possibilities are almost endless. And that is before you even start to add the accessories, all in this same look at me! red that knocks your eye out. Like the necklace, the earrings and the bracelets.

I was especially taken by this configuration, the frills on the pants legs and the barely-there bikini top evoking a harem and the whole spirit of the middle east. And the kiki little handbag that swings happily off your wrist made in the shape of this most delicious of fruits. But it's not just a ton of fun, there's truth behind her inspiration.

Sofia has added cow ears to symbolise Hathor, the Godess of the Sun, Music, Dance and the Arts. The sun disk head dress is also one of Hathor's main representations. Being also well known as the deity of Fertility the pomegranate is an apt symbol - and they were offered in the tomb as a way to speed up the return and rebirth of the beloved departed. A shame they didn't have poofers back then - did I mention that this dress comes complete with fun particles in the shape of seeds, slices, and whole fruit? All in that glorious shade of red that sets off the Efe skin and shape created especially by Hart Larssen of PXL Skin for the Digital Alchemy event. I'm finishing it off with the Cleopatra Bob in Caramel Caramel by Violet Morelett of Inorite also on sale at the Kings Rezzable sim
So come and sink your teeth into the luscious design as well.
