Ready to Go Hyper on the Hypergrid!

going hyper hyper at opensim grid

It should be as easy to move around the 3D Web as it on the 2D Web--er...well it should be a lot easier to zip/zap around 3D Web than in real world anyway. Freedom of movement beyond a single grid...yes it sounds grand--and maybe now we are seeing the first examples of how it will actually work.  The latest version of the OpenSim software v0.62 has a hypergrid functionality. We are testing it now.

Of course we will need to look at this new feature carefully. there are many issues about what public visitors can do, what they can bring with them, what they can take away and more. But you should be able to TP into our new Rezzable Hypergrid and wander around. Yup, you will be ruthed and not be able to do too much, But it is a start, so we would really appreciate any testing and bug reports.

This Rezzable Hypergrid is set-up as its own grid and not connected to the Rezzable Private Grid Alpha (PGA) currently. Perhaps in future the hypergrids will be the active front doors for public access to all kinds of grids.

And what a nice present for OpenSim's 2nd birthday! So please join us in the celebrations starting tomorrow to share the goodwill for the OpenSim community and show support for the metaverse.

We will be posting more information about how to access the Rezzable Hypergrid soon.
