Republicans Selling Virtual Land to Democrats?

Tateru scoops this news that Mark Kingdon CEO of Linden Lab names a former Bush (and Dole) staffer to run the campaign to get lucrative US Government contracts. Scott Sechser, most recently at Health and Human Services doing "special projects" but previously White House Operations Manager 2001-2004. A little bit of web trolling (UNO Alumni Mag see page 31) also shows that he had a "job with the U.S. Defense Department as a public affairs specialist for the U.S. Air Force, a Pentagon post that included time under U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld."

/me shakes my freaking head more than a little.

So how does a sales pitch to a Democratic government go though for Linden Labs? Hi, we have a reputation for land speculation, porno and general freakiness, but--also our technology doesn't scale, isn't enterprise-ready or particularly secure-- however, we don't offer service level agreements and raise prices whenever we feel like it. And we got as much virtual land as you can ever want. Really, it's all true...and dem WMD dey really virtually here dis time.

Gee...I hope the democrats don't fall for that pitch (again)...
