I want you to think of something. Think of a goth girl. Do it quickly, don't think of someone specific you know, just in your head invent a girl, who is a goth. I'm guessing she'll look something like this: very thin, alabaster white skin, black (probably dyed) hair, lots of eyeliner, maybe some black lipstick. Am I right? This trick works for a lot of subcultures, for example, hip-hop girl, I'm guessing skin the darker side of tan, be it asian, mediterranean or black, but probably not an fair English Rose sort of complexion, a heart-shaped face and a large behind. Of course, it's not fair to suggest that everyone will see these things, but I'll bet a fair amount of people have visualized the types I described. It's interesting how stereotypes based on a person's interests influence what we expect them to look like, with no regard to what they may have put on, just their shape and colouring, the very things their choices of clothing have no influence over. Chances are, in the picture of the 'goth girl' we thought of above, little thought has actually gone into the details what she's wearing, just something maybe tight fitting and almost certainly black, even though the clothing she would have chosen would be precisely what would have made her 'goth' as opposed to, say, preppy, or a raver, or a fireman, or any other thing a change in her clothing could identify her as. It's one of the less harmful and most common types of stereotyping out there, something I would suggest most of us are guilty of until we put our own personal experience into the mix. With this in mind, it's really quite refreshing to look at Swedish RL modelling agency Nocturnal Models Agency's models page and see the beautiful diversity of their goth, fetish and alternative models. While there are of course, a good quantity of the traditional pale gothic beauties, with their slim oval faces, narrow eyes, long straight noses and smirking thin lips, there is more diversity than you would expect, with their models ranging from middle-eastern, bald, or curvaceous, to the more prosaic but equally unexpected from a goth agency, blonde with a healthy tan.

-NMA Model December-
Swedish model December, recreated in Second Life for Rezzable by Tuli Asturias and Aemilia Case is available in Crimson Shadow's Immortals range, with a choice of skins in six makeups, each including a modifiable shape, eyes, brow shaper, and two hairs based on the model's RL looks. December's shape( not shown) is a little on the short side for SL, and she has a rather athletic build, with firm breasts and an almost boyishly straight torso, down to a pert behind and shapely but powerful legs.
-Skin by Tuli-
Her skin, made from high resolution photographs of the model herself, compliments her toned curves in every way, bearing the pinkish golden shades of someone who enjoys the outdoors and the sun, further evidenced by the smattering of freckles and beauty marks that cover her torso and legs which add a deep sense of personality to these skins, that while they are a canvas upon which you can project whatever you want, they're less literally blank than most others. December's oval face features makeup hand drawn by the incredible Tuli Asturias, and in conjunction with the shape has a proud nose, softly full symmetrical lips with a defined cupid's bow, and catlike eyes, with a beauty mark below her mouth, on her high cheekbone, and at the edge of her hairline, and a dusting of light freckles over her cheeks. Her makeup comes in a range of shades of mainly frosted glossy pinks and purples, with some reds, and defined cat-eye liner with smoky eyeshadow. Sparkling ice-blue eyes gaze out coolly maintaining her unique
Scandinavian beauty.
-Hair by Philotic Energy-
Her hair by Aemilia Case of Philotic Energy is a glamorous mix of platinum blonde and black, the first of the two styles included being a long tousled style, a mane of blonde curls, with black tendrils and underlayer, adding an edge to the traditional bombshall sweetness, cascading over the shoulders, with bangs pushed to the side and reaching the cheekbones. The second style is a pair of curly pigtails, but there is nothing farmgirl about this hair. Mainly an ebony black, with bold platinum blonde underlayers forming the long tips of the hair, and matching blonde messy bangs, this versatile hair screams attitude while staying flirty and mysterious.
