-Harthor Goddess Diadem-
-Blue Lotus Necklace-
For those of you unfamiliar as to what a Diadem is, it's the traditional headpiece you might commonly see on Pharoahs and Queens back in Ancient Egypt. These Diadems usually have encrusted on them an emblem representing the Queen that is bestowed such a regal headwear. The Hathor Goddess Diadem - Special Edition by Candy Cerveau for Eyecandy is made of refined gold with an encrusted Lotus flower made of Lapis Lazuli, a royal blue semi-precious stone. To match the Diadem is the Blue Lotus Necklace - Special Edition by Candy Cerveau for Eyecandy made of these same materials. It is a two stranded necklace made of interspersed beads of gold and lapis lazuli. The upper strand is finished with polished, square-cut lapis lazuli stone. The centerpiece is a Lotus Pendant on the outer strand that gives gives this Egyptian theme necklace a modern look that is versatile whether you are the Queen of the Nile or a night on the town being treated like the Queen that you are.
-SYSY's Nefer gown-
To describe this stunning Egyptian styled gown created by SySy, I decided to look up the word "Nefer", the name given to the gown. I knew that Nefertiti and Nefertari were two of the great Queens of Ancient Egypt. Both of these women were married to famous Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt and both were especially noted not just for their amazing beauty but their powerful presence, independent leadership and grace. But I had to look up the word Nefer, which also comes from Egyptian origins and you'll find that this is a perfect word used to describe this wonderful gown (and the reason why it was part of the names of these 2 legendary Queens).
Nefer is a hieroglyph that is used to convey "goodness" and "beauty". Wearing this creation by SySy truly exemplifies both “goodness” and “beauty” making Nefer the perfect name for this dress. The gown I was fortunate to try on was created in rich cream Egyptian silks that drape off of one shoulder, clinging tight to the body with brown cording that accent the bodice of the dress. The waist is accented by a gold metallic belt that 'drapes & swirls' around the waist and is intertwined with fair turquoise silks. To match with the belt is a golden cuff bracelet and thick golden collar. Turquoise Armband silks draping from each forearm completes this magnificent dress. To see and even to wear this gown will take you back to a time a memorable time of Ancient Egypt where legendary women like Nefertari and Nefertiti would wear such stunning gowns when meeting with their public. The only images we have left of these famous women are the artifacts left behind of this ancient culture but you can see why "Nefer" was used to describe both of these women. And Nefer is a perfect word for this gown from SySy because to wear it you can see the goodness & beauty that was put into this creation. Whether you’re the Queen of an ancient empire or a modern woman looking for an stylish look, this is the perfect gown for you.
-Caroline's Sesen Jewelry-
They say that "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" but in ancient Egypt the diamond had strong competition from Lapis Lazuli, a semi-precious stone prized since antiquity for its intense blue color. Lapis Lazuli was used not only to create relics and powerful amulets used by ancient Egyptians but it was also found as Jewelry graced by many of the greats of Ancient Egyptian times. It was even said that Cleopatra herself used powdered Lapis Lazuli for her eyeshadow. So it was only natural that when Caroline's Jewelry was asked to create an Egyptian inspired set of Jewelry that the designer would use this valued stone to create such an elegant set. The "Sesen" Necklace and Earring set are created using Lapis Lazuli stones shined to an elegant finished and stranded together with chains of gold. The centerpiece of this set is the "Sesen" which is the Egyptian word for Lotus - a dangling lotus flower finishes both the necklace and graces the ear with a matching pair of earrings. The Lotus flower was symbolic during Ancient Egyptian times representing rebirth and creation. It was common to see the Lotus; especially ones created of Lapis Lazuli, used by the greats like King Tutankhamen and placed in the burial tombs for these legends. This beautiful set that is based in ancient Egyptian history will still look amazing on today's Modern SL woman. The history represented by the Lapis Lazuli stone and Lotus flowers matches perfectly whether you are dressing in the styles of Ancient Egypt or for a glamorous SL party.
