Sofia London's Lost Loves exclusive at Crimson Shadow

For some reason, one of the big clichés in the world of 'cute' is the image of a baby with a bowl of spaghetti dumped over it's head. Any parent will tell you, having to clean up after such an instance is anything but adorable. Wearing your food is generally considered at very least, not especially sophisticated, if, at times, admittedly, raising a smile. Sofia London's mainstore, LurveBite, has the makings of changing this, bringing about a wearable edible revolution, with her Food Couture line, full of delicious dresses not just inspired by, but made of, the scrummiest ingredients, marshmallows, chocolate, buttered toast, banana pudding and vanilla wafers, breakfast cereals, a mouthwatering line that's literally good enough to eat. I find it a delightful dichotomy to create fashion from very things that so many people in the world of fashion deny themselves, adding an extra dimension to the idea of living vicariously through your avatar, and, on a rather less philosophical note, they are absolutely ADORABLE, at least one hundred times more so than a baby with a bowl of spaghetti dumped on it's head.

But Sofia London's creative talent lies not only in the calorific adornment of Second Life's women, among her regular line of clothing, which itself is beautifully made, she has been innovative in her use of Glow on her clothing, and it is especially striking in her head-turning contribution to Rezzable's Fashion Inspired by Crimson Shadow, Lost Loves, which, in her own words, was inspired by “the loss of innocence and true romance resulting from the arrival to Crimson Shadow”

Like so much that has been featured for Fashion Inspired by Crimson Shadow, Lost Loves comes with a wealth of ways in which it can be worn, full of pieces for mixing and matching to your heart's content, for the creation of many striking looks from the one outfit. I'll be following the helpful notecard included with the outfit, but as ever, I implore you, good readers, to have a play around and see what of your own you can create with these stunning pieces.

The first of these is a classic bikini, gently layered in a rich deep red, with the top forming a distinctive piece around which many other looks can be built. It features a single, diagonal strap, reaching from the top of the right cup, and hugging over the neck and shoulder to attach on the left side at the back. The top itself features a swirling swoop cut-out detail, which surely not by chance, points toward the heart. Paired with basic, but flawlessly made, bikini briefs, this sensual option screams simplicity while allowing the wearer to effortlessly stand out from the crowd.

SJ is wearing hair by the amazing Aemilia Case Philotic Energy 'PE' Ember in Clinker and eyes by Malkavyn Eldritch  Treasured Visions ~TV~ Clubbing: Biowaste and the ~TV ~ Clubbing: Left Eye - Glowworms. The next way to wear this mammoth ensemble features a flirty deep red miniskirt, again with a wonderful full-bodied layered texture, and a strapless top that could easily stand up on it's own in anyone's wardrobe, as it graduates from a taupe colour over the straight-cut bust, to a subtle band of warm brown, down to a darker, more charcoal shade the rest of the way down. This shirt also comes in a 'torn' option, which has a pleasantly decayed, moth-eaten feel to it, and clings to the body in an admirably gravity-defying way, covering the breasts, but only just, and included are above-knee deep red socks. Not enough options for you? Here, with the second option of miniskirt, we experience Sofia London's fabulous usage of Glow, with the miniskirt with Ribbons, and the optional . The phosphorescence of the golden ribbons in question set the mystical bindings apart from the childish ties of little girls.

The attention to detail in this stunning long skirt option honestly made my jaw drop when I saw it. But, we're getting ahead of ourselves...The top is formed from the aforementioned bikini top on the jacket layer, and the strapless top on the shirt layer, which meld together perfectly to form this breathtaking gown bodice, which has a down-to-earth simplicity while not resorting to being 'plain', which provides just the contrast needed for the feature 'Skirt of Lost Loves'.

From a distance, at first glance, it's a beautiful skirt, sculpted, full of volume, in two distinct crimson tones, looking somewhat reminiscent of an inverted rose, just past it's first bloom, but a closer look reveals the dark meaning of this dress wholly. Lost in the dark folds of the skirt, are childish tokens of a girl's lost innocence, from all angles there is something new to find, teddy bears, cookies and candy and cake (red velvet cake, fittingly), breakfast cereal, Sofia's signature buttered toast, and, ultimately, love. The skirt is also available in a plain version, for those of you who like your dresses a little less symbolic, or are conscious of your ARC.

One of the most delightful ways to lose your innocence is available at the Crimson Shadow boutique, along with a host of other amazing outfits, and whatever you do, don't miss the fashion show marking the end of the stunning Fashions Inspired by Crimson Shadow event, at 2PM SLT on November 9th at Crimson Shadow!
