Virtual Art & Bryn Oh

Bryn Oh at Crosshatch in Rezzable Grid

Virtual art............is it real?   Many times over I have heard this question asked.  Of course it is real.   Art is Art no matter where or how it exists.  Virtual art, existing in a virtual world or virtual platform online has the ability to be viewed, touched, explored, and interacted with.   One becomes fully immersed within the environment.  Perhaps  more museums and galleries in the physical world will embrace this art of the future which is quickly becoming art of here and now, and share these immersive environments with their patrons.

Virtual art can be static 3d creations from the artists imagination; a replica of a physical real world piece; a magical morphing, musical sculpture that continually recreates itself into a new piece of art as you view it or an entire immersive environment that involves multi-dimensional builds, interaction, intrigue,  wonderment and discovery.

The ability to recreate paintings, poetry, a story, or the world locked within ones imagination into a multi-dimensional  world; a painting you can actually walk in to and become fully immersed  while exploring in awe at the creativity from the imagination that exudes from the artist's that create such exhibits, this is what virtual worlds offer to the art world today and yes, this IS art.   A new and exciting medium for artists, one that unleashes a whole new way to allow their creativity to flow.

One such artist that has been utilizing virtual worlds to create these immersive installations is Bryn Oh.  Bryn is the Avatar (Character) of a professional oil painter living in Toronto, Canada.     Discovering virtual worlds as a new medium for her creativity has allowed her  to really explore her art in a new and exciting way.  She has been able to go from 2d painting to creating paintings you can enter that become magical 3 dimensional exhibits.

Bryn creates interactive experiences that beg to be explored, the more you explore, the more you will discover.  Bryn's installations often follow a narrative.  Along the way you may find clues, notes or elements of the exhibit that will lead you to new and exciting aspects of the installation.

Bryn Oh is creating an all new immersive  installation on the REZZABLE grid.   For those of you familiar with her immersive installations, the magic; the mystery; and intrigue, this fanciful new installation will not disappoint!   For those of you not familiar with her virtual installations, they are something you should check out!

Keep an eye on this blog and we will keep you posted as to the opening date, and how to join the Rezzable grid to be a part of this exciting new venture!

There are a couple of photos of her new build going up on the Rezzable FLickr Page so be sure to check them out and very soon we will have a teaser for you to see at the Greenies grid in SL!
