2010 - How Do Your Shards Grow?

2010 - How Do Your Shards Grow? I

Last I reported, I left with the sorrowful prospect of sentience thrown away. But with the dark, there is light, and with a negative outlook of the future, there is an optimistic one awaiting. As current issues ask what we throw away, they also pose the question, "What will we grow in the future?"

2010 - Little Mech Goddess I

As humanity races forward to the future, we have run smack into challenges that threaten to overthrow us. Over the past decade, the issue of environmentalism has swelled with our expanding global connections and consequences for past generations' actions come to the forefront. Therefore, when we look at is yet to be, it is not just relevant, but critical to consider the question, "What will we throw away?"

2010 - One Night in Pteron I

Sleek, metallic urban centers with cybernetic details is one predominant perspective of what our world will look like the in future, along with the bleak outlook of a battered dystopia blanketing the planet. There is another major view, however, inspired by when we cast our eyes upward. The cosmic bodies of the universe have been researched and mundanely explained over the past century, yet still their wonder endures...

Holiday Trends 2009

Holiday Trend (Art piece)

The cold is nipping at noses in the northern hemisphere while warm breezes flirt in the south, and all around the globe, people are swept up in the season of celebration. And with them, their wardrobes. The virtual world is no exception, and three themes have particularly stood out this holiday-

Halloween Fiends 2009

Wicked Munchkin by Green Dream on FlickR

Creepy crawlies, grim ghouls, and all that goes bump in the night have slithered out of their haunts and into our realm as the 31st of October looms on the horizon. Halloween has come knocking to 2009, and few can deny its call: for one month, the world celebrates the dead, deviance, and - above all - being different. This holiday, the throne for the favorite fiend has a number of competitors, offering the living a variety of options to create their own unique monstrosity-

Spring/Summer '09 Reflections

As the leaves change into their autumn hues and chilly breezes nip at our heels, its clear that the fresh, bright seasons of spring and summer have bid us adieu for the year. This does not mean, however, we cannot look fondly back at what they brought us, especially in the realm of fashion-

Swansong: Outside the Box

 Outside the Box I

Writing for the Swansong event has been an interesting challenge for me, personally: not only is there an elemental theme to keep in mind, but each blogger must execute their posts so that they are unique, despite us all working with the same items. This can tie us up in some knots or cause us to bump heads if we’re not careful.

Fortunately, we have a team that naturally thinks beyond limitations. Elusyve and Piston had their affair with Wretched Dollies, and now it’s my turn to get down and dirty with Gaia's Sonata.

Swansong: Dark Water

 Dark Water I

The Black Swan is characterized by large, dynamic structures throughout the sim. These outcroppings of rock and art are the main features of the land, but surrounding them all is a vast sea. While not the center stage, the water illuminates the effigies and allows them to truly stand out amongst each other. Truly, the area would not cast the same awe on visitors if they were enclosed by earth.

Similarly, the articles taking center stage at the Swansong event are primarily female. However, there are masculine partners to a few pieces that help showcase the feminine beauty of their counterparts. One such companion is Blue Blood’s Oceanic Sonata.

Swansong: Remnant of Air

 Remnant of Air I

The phrase “seeing is believing” has circled about conversations for ages. And for equally as long, the string of words has been tested and disproved. Nothing so clearly crushes this idiom as air: invisible to the eye, yet completely surrounding us. It’s constant presence makes the element easy to forget, but our lives depend on it to be there; and while we normally move through it freely, the right conditions can whip it up into deadly winds.

In the storm of the Swansong, the Sweetest Goodbye has unleashed the Placebo.
