The fashion industry has never been one to wait around for societal norms to jump into a new era, and the runways in multiple worlds lately have been graced with sleek, edgy designs hailing from the future. Rezzable's 2010 - The Future is Now event has collected a number of the best creators to focus our scopes on what may be in store fo us, and I managed to catch one of the designs in action- the Razor Girl by +DV8+.
It was a bit difficult capturing these images, as I had to do some multitasking. Just a bit of sidework, you know? And I had to, uhhh, talk to some staff at the club to use the images captured on the security tapes. Surprisingly, the film turned out really well.
The alarm red and oil black ensemble hugs curves while adding sharp lines with the dynamic contrast of colors. Up close, one can see the subtle texture added to the brilliant ruby hue, giving it a look that asks onlookers to reach out and touch it. But I don't recommend it- the Razor Girl is designed for those of dangerous character. If you doubt my claim, consider this evidence: the outfit comes with 31 clothing articles on vairous layers, allowing for a slew of combinations that would easily allow a shady character to redress and slip away. (Choosing what to start with in the morning, however, may be much more difficult).
The accessories are equally numerous - belts, bracelets, bands, and DV8's well-known boots are all included to further individualize the outfit for the owner. In these shots, I also "borrowed" the shades, mask and headphones from the male counterpart of the Razor Girl, the Cybermancer. The rest of the Cybermancer can also be pulled off by a femme fatale, but I'm pretty sure the guy that lent me the pieces preferred I leave his clothes on. Public nudity laws and all that.
For this set-up, I twirled-up my hair into Exile's new Laya style and died it scarlett to add a wild, gritty air to the appearance. The detachable braid extension continues the theme of multiple options, while the ExpiredMech Skinby BLU282 provides a great starting canvas to deck out.
Oh, one other important accessory of the Razor Girl...
- The bag. Apparently, one of the guard not only had the misfrotune of, ummm, startling me, but had a camera on his head. From what I saw in the paper, he's only in the hospital with minor head trauma.
Thankfully, my galpals showed up to help escort me out of the club before things got crazy. Got to exit with style, ya' know? If you'd like to cut your teeth into the future and mix things up, the DV8 Razor Girl is packed and waiting at the 2010 - The Future is Now galatic grounds. And you better move fast- what is today's up and coming could become tomorrow's casual.
