Rezzable presents the 2008 Global Music Festival live on the grid, sponsored by Languagelab. The festival is a month long showcase for live DJs and performers working with non-English based lyrics and international beats. Great sounds and energy will flow across the metaverse. Starting September 3rd running till the end of September, the festival will be hosted across the more than 20 rezzable virtual world areas.

Rezzable and Language Lab have come together to celebrate diversity in music and nationalities by hosting the Global Musical Festival. During the month of September, every weekend, events will be held at Rezzable's clubs: Greenies, Haze, and Crimson, with the focus on showcasing different styles of music. But it's there's more about the Global Music Festival than just 'maxing the streams':
The DJ's
Participating DJ's in the Global Music Festival are Doubledown Tandino, Krakov Letov, Swina Allen, Otawan Fouquet, LilTank Thibedeau, Evermore Noel, Santos Dagger, DJ Indigo, Summer Delight, Adamatic Aeon, Nova Sakigake, MoShang Zhao, Bianca Darling, December Dollinger, Heroin Allen, Derfel Birmingham, Serinajane Loon, Aslyn Dufaux, Vampires Bulloch, Amanda Shinji, Aidan Zabibha, Mabb Dilweg, Azufr3 Catteneo, Cataplexia Numbers, Mavi Beck, Dreams Lightcould, Becca Nishi and Jarl Soderstorm.
Each of them will play one or more sets during the four weeks the festival lasts. In the end, the public will decide which one they liked best. That DJ - or DJess - will receive a cash prize of 50,000L$ and 50,000L$ worth of virtual merchandise. We'll furnish them with merchandise from each sim & genre, from Stratos' cars, over fashionable Crimson Shadow outfits and the funny bearded lady from Carnival of Doom to Greenies Hooverboards and bow ties.

Festival Backpack

Just pick it up at one of the locations - look for the sleeping Greenie that's handing them out -, wear it, and you will automatically receive all goodies. Festival Wellies
Nothing as much fun at a real life festival, as a good pour of rain, and nothing as handy then as a solid, waterproof pair of wellies. Just to be sure - you never know when sea levels suddenly rise! - we have included a fashionable pair of yellow festival wellies for your fashion pleasures, with a little extra! You must surely know that 'tic tak tic tak' sound boots make in Second Life? Well, we thought we could be better. As wellies on a festival are made for mud and sopping sounds, we've included those. Don't worry, although it does take a while to get tired of it, a simple chat command will turns this off.
Sleep Learning Greenie
This really cute plush Greenie dreams of being the next ambassador for Greenies, but first, it has to work on it's knowledge of languages a bit. No easier way to learn languages than in your sleep? Wrong! Languagelab might just have a better way, involving virtual worlds! ;) Wear this cute teddy and rock him to language-learning-sleep. Want to know what he's learning? Just click him, and he'll tell you!
Concert Lighter
A solid, silver lighter for use when listening to that great artists you always dreamed of watching. Wait for sunset - or cheat using world > day settings - and raise those arms in the air for an awesome particle effect. Colourable and ... it overrules the typing animation, so you do not need to fear you'll burn your hands.
Headphones
Regardless if you're small-headed, large-headed, stubborn-headed or a Greenie, we've included a fitting pair of headphones. Excellent for use by our DJs, but even if you can't spin tunes, no need to admit that. Headphones make great fashion items!

Captured Proverbs Photography Contest
What would music be without without the visual arts that go with it, right? The 'Captured Proverbs' SL Photo Contest is not your typical photo contest; it is a celebration of the RL diversity that helps make SL special. This is your chance to showcase your Real Life Culture by taking the best photo in SL that represents something typical to your home country & culture: it's proverbs. Prizes are abundant, with 30,000L$ and lots of in world goodies for the first prize winner.
Starting September 3th, the flickr group "Captured Proverbs in SL" will open and you can start submitting your photos to the group. The contest ends on Sept 28th, with the winners being announced on October 8th. You will need to submit your participating photographs to the 'Captured Proverbs (SL)' Flickr group before September 28th. You can submit a maximum of 3 entries.
