I seem to remember saying this was what rezzable was going to do, during the time when RAR was vying for 'anti lindenlab personality of the year' with the prokster.

Now that everything I've said has been proven right and i'm vindicated, I've no axe to grind, I suppose.

Good luck with it all, looks quite cool, visually.

Couple of things though, if you're going to invite people to "byot" you should make clear who'll own that IP and what'll happen to it once its uploaded to your servers. People know, or will come to quite quickly, that everything uploaded to your servers, you basically have a full mods copy of - they're going to need to know things about IP rights that arent set out in the inviting but too brief copy above.

Secondly, now that you've burned your bridges at lindenlabs, what happens if you cant actualize this exodus you envisage? Just curious, the last revenue model didnt work too well because of costs and lack of cash inflow, how is lowering your potential audience going to help?

I'm not really having a go, I said this was what was going to happen yonks ago, and here it is. I'm just interested, curious, now -  whats the plan if 6 months in, nobody's showing up, where does your business go from there?

CD-rom and computers' new juxtaposition
in the mainstream pubics' homes is leaving people
owning their own editing machines.

If they have the materials available to them for experimental mixing,
more will learn how to create..

.and Medea encyclopedias.

There is no turning back.
People will come to not need special effects wizards.
More of the mainstream are going to insist on creative control
of what they choose to buy..

@Prosseedr: I was always happy enough when I had the choice between 'the normal song' and a 'club remix' for the bass. :D But yeah, you're right, but it has started a while ago already too. Affordable and more easy accesible software (the internets), more affordable gear, and also a trend that puts 'uniqueness' (and 'do you own thing') as 'in' opposed to the former 'standardisation'. Be original seems to be the motto now, where it used to be 'conform!'  (Although this might just be a pretty varnish, as below that, it's still about 'conform!' and the be unique is something that 's now needed to confirm ? Maybe that's human nature. :d I can only *gasp* at the number I payed for my first - second handed - DSLR 5 years ago... . And also education is following the trend of 'creativity' and 'mixed media'. (I'm still one of the gang that had to learn everything by head though. Sometimes that makes me wonder if for eg. maths knowing how to get a function graph on your pc/calculator is the same as knowing why it is that way and how it's composed/has to be drawn. But well.)

I believe whatever the future will hold - be it more mixed media, a 3D web, ... - we will only be looking at it with amazement, trying to keep up with those younger than we are... . But for now, I like this cult of 'more creativity'. (Be aware though, it's mostly only the people that find itself on the web that got this creativy & do-it-yourself-art boost. The others still settle for TV, and their ephomy of creativity is chosing their own movie from digitial tv in stead of what is programmed. :/ )

I entered a bug about this on the LL OGP browser about two months ago. What does "home location" mean when you are usig a different grid?

I was able to get around this by keying in the name of the sim as to where i wanted to rez.

I believe this is a viewer error that possibly could be corrected by the launcher.

@Login Isuses - Yes, these troubles were due to 'home region' not being available, as Rezzable 3 - landing area by default - was acting up. It's behaving again, but we're looking into why it was causing us trouble, as to prevent this from the future. I believe there should be a second login option, if the home region is down. (kinda like "the region is currently down, we'll teleport you to a nearby location SL messsage) and hope that gets implemented soon(ish). :)
