New Year's resolutions... even avatars make them. What are yours?

New Year's resolutions is something 'atomics' are bound to do. We might not always write them down, but at the beginning of each year, we say "this is what I'm going to do different", or "this is what I want to achieve". No miracle that this reflects on our avatar behaviours. So what did your avatar plan for 2009? Click here to vote in our poll.

Cleaning out the inventory & keeping it organised. You're a practical person, liking everything tidy & neat. But you're always busy in-world, and 'inventory management' is something you don't always have the time for. This year, from start to end, you're going to be tidy. Every notecard will go in the correct folder, every 'object' prim that's no use will be deleted. "Keep it under 10,000!!!" is your motto. Until the 1st of March when you'll start to slack off again.

Spend more time in-world. Virtual 2009 will rock! You're an optimist. You had a blast in 2008 exploring art sims, meeting new friends and creating your own stuff. You're sure that despite the openspaces crisis and general economical crisis in the 'meatspace', things will turn out ok for Second Life and some art sims will be left to explore. Well, we hope you're right! (And of course, that you continue to explore our sims. ;))

Become the best in my field. You already have a thriving Second Life business, but want to max your talents and/or profit. Be it for financial gain, for the joy of being famous, or for that personal feeling of achievement, you will keep going until you are the very best and the whole grid sings your praise. Best of luck, and if you create something splendidly cool, let us know! Foolish Frost is your hero and "Avatar" your theme song! (Builders may go with "Prim in my Hand".)

Spend less time in Second Life and seek greener pastures.. err.. virtual lands. You kinda 'had it' with SL. 2005 was way more fun than 2008 and your fellow avatars aren't that interesting anymore. The ones that were... well, they already left. On top of that, Lindens really pissed you off. You'll take every opportunity to explore other virtual worlds, hoping to stumble over one that is the utopia you dreamt Second Life would be. Let us know if you found it!

Start my own virtual business. You're new on the grid, or an older resident that has watched others long enough to be convinced you have the right business plan nailed. You'll carefully select a plot of virtual land, staff and start creating your own stuff. Great! We hope you succeed! Don't forget, you need a marketing plan too, to compete with the already established Second Life businesses.

Set up my own OpenSim. You're tired of limited estate management options, want a cheap sim for experimental purposes, dream about the 'hypergrid', think it's kewl to own your own sim, ... . Whatever reason, basically, you want to take the matter & virtual land in your own hands. You look forward to joining the still expanding OpenSim community and hope to contribute your own little part to it. Guess what? So do we! ;)

Something different & Special. You have other hopes & aspirations, that we know you'll share in the comments! ;) It can be small things for self-improvement or large goals that will benefit the whole grid. Some of mine: Do more for RFL this year, answer all IM's, blog more positive/optimistic stuff, get those unfinished tutorials finished, participate in more cross-culture/cross-language stuff inSL, partner with Miss LittleToe, ... . The list is long! ;)

So, what are your new year's resolution for 2009 and err... does your human & finance department agree with those? ;)
