The 3rd annual Hair Fair - running August 22 until September 7th - is approaching fast ! This year, there will be almost 90 participants, spreading across 4 sims. The Hair Fair is sponsored by Rezzable, who have donated the islands for this charity event. Hair Fair donates proceeds to Locks of Love, an organization that donates wigs to children who suffer hair loss due to cancer, burns, and other conditions. This year, all designers at the fair will donate 50% of one hair style to the charity. Also there will be donation kiosks placed around the fair, where you can donate directly.
Together with the Hair Fair 2008, there is the Hair Fair Photo contest on Flickr: submit - before the 15th of August 2008 - a photograph depicting your favourite hairstyle from it's most positive angle, and win 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize. This is the moment to eternally glorify your most precious prim hair in a beautiful pixelated portrait! Also coming up is Bandana Day, which takes place at the last day of the Hair Fair 2008: September 7th. For Bandana Day 2008, all avatars on the grid - including fashionista, maybe especially the fascionista's - will be asked to go bald for one day. Of course, you do not need to show us your bald top of your head skin, but you can purchase a lovely bandana to cover your baldness. All proceeds from the bandana's sold at the Hair Fair 2008 between August 22 and September 7th will go to Locks of Love. One day going bald, is not a huge sacrifice to make, if you know that the kids benefiting from wigs supplied by Locks of Love need to suffer baldness for a longer period, possibly even their entire life! The rules for "no text" is because many people will try to place their ads in the group, or slap their name over the image. However in your case I think the text ads to the art of the photo. Now I will cross my fingers that the other admins feel the same as me. ;)
