Although few things reached ultimate perfection yet on what is OpenSim and thus our Rezzable Private Grid Alpha - the question is, can that ever, with constantly evolving technology and knowledge - 'the view' is definitely as stunning as 'elsewhere' when the right content has arrived. Take for example this lovely scenery, with Snowy Hoobinoo's 'out of the ordinary' virtual foliage and Evad Babii's beautiful lighthouse in the back. Shot at Sandbox #3. Now you can argue that WindLight will make everything beautiful, but this was definitely a stunning sight.
Another great feature - that where everybody was grey to me on Friday night - resulted in 'The Virtual Second Birth of Miss Dakotah Yue'. Miss Dakotah and me were discussing the most appropriate way to 'justify' her temporary appearance: "True colour is shown on the inside, not glued upon a mesh", where as that other marketing department would probably say "We strive to increase equality amongst avatars, hence show all textures and attachments as grey. We strongly believe this will lead the way to more corporate business solutions." Which justification would you prefer?
Background for this portrait of Miss Dakotah is the Greenies' Kitchen Table. The final snap I took at the PGA is just a silly one, testing poses and animations together with Miss Dakotah Yue. Being on the Private Grid Alpha feels a bit like being 'virtually young' again: you have to make do with a more limited inventory, experiment what is possible and what is not and upload silly - or seriously pretty - things you made yourself. The below pose - modelled by the Alpha-Grid-me, trying to keep her face serious - is definitely an example of such a 'silly upload'. But hey, they don't cost me a single L$! ;)
If you want to join the Rezzable Private Grid Alpha yourself, leave a comment here after reading what it will take to get you registered. Don't worry, we're not asking for a virtual arm & leg, just proof that your virtual you is really you, avoiding possible identity crisises and 'she stole my name' drama. We have 2 'stress test parties' planned at Greenies Home (PGA) on December 17th & 18th starting at 1PM SLT. It would be sweet if you can make it by then! ;)
