Cat well known for machinery and the workmanlike clothing brand have just introduced a new thermal camera phone. The Cat S60 features a built in thermal camera for checking temperatures and spotting hotspots. According to Cat, the S60 can even find people trapped in wreckages.
Caterpillar recently unveiled the world’s first smartphone with a built-in thermal imaging camera at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). The product is a collaboration with Cat, Bullitt who are an electronics company FLIR who manufacturer thermal imaging cameras.
Just like the clothing brand, durability is a key feature with the Cat S60 waterproof to 5m depth and also designed to survive falls of up to 1.8m. Its toughness is also highlighted by its conformance to US military specifications for heat, shock, dust and various other conditions that can damage smartphones.
