Dark Passions

Ivalde Blog-pants

When I first joined SL, I quickly discovered Ivalde and her collection of discounted clothes.  At the time, I was living off sploders and didn't have much money to spend.  What I got from Ivalde only whetted my appetite for more, and when I finally did have the means to buy clothes other than those on the "discount rack", Ivalde was one of the first places I went.

The clothes that I had been drooling over for months did not disappoint.  Neferia was one of the few designers at the time, who had put in as much effort into her discounted/free outfits as she had her regular priced items.

A Warrior's Passion

Exxess-full

When I first saw this outfit, I fell in love.  It gave me the feeling of a warrior woman in a far off world, clothing herself in what she finds: some feathers from a long ago bird, rocks that glitter, and the skin of a snake.  Her beauty she uses as her weapon, fluttering harmless looking fans as she flirts with her unsuspecting foe, before wielding her steel fans deftly to defeat him.

You too can become a warrior woman, TP to Black Swan where you may pick up this empowering outfit.

Gravity Never Looked So Good: The "Passions of Black Swan" Creations of Ivey Deschanel & Tuli Asturias

Ivey Deschanel is the creative goddess behind the well-known and cheekily-named Sn@tch, serving up wicked hot punk/glam/goth/club clothing with attitude.  "Passions of Black Swan" was a natural fit for Ivey, as her designs are often infused with darkness, edginess, and touches of romance and retro glamour. Her devoted throng of followers (myself included!) were ecstatic when she agreed to participate.

I asked Ivey about how she became inspired to create the "Gravity" ensemble, her glamourous-with-aniedge "Passions of Black Swan" creation.  She had this to say:

Shai Delacroix and Jonny Dusk let you express your own "Passions of Black Swan."

Casa del Shai has been one of my most favorite of the favorite stores since I discovered it almost a year ago.  When I think of Shai Delacroix's designs, I think of edgy elegance and the very height of style in SL fashion.  High praise, yes..but if anyone deserves it, it's this long-time creator of the "classy pixels" (as she calls them).  Shai Delacroix's "Rosalind"

Imagine my excitement when we she agreed to participate in Passions of Black Swan!  I couldn't wait to see what would inspire her.  It turns out, the answer is...Tim Burton!  I talked with Shai as the designers were setting up, and she told me the statue of the ballerina within Black Swan mixed with her love of Tim Burton's "Nightmare Before Christmas" and "Beetle Juice" to create this dark ballerina dress she calls "Rosalind."  This dress is just the first peek at her soon-to-be-released new collection.

Haunted Zuzu, Kouse's Sanctum, Tuli, Philotic Energy, Violet Voltaire...oh my!

Haunted Zuzu's Black Fire

The Passions of Black Swan fashion event begins today after much buzz surrounding the designer list.  During the next two weeks, Lokum Shilova and I will be showing you all the gorgeousness that each one of these designers dreamed up after being challenged to show the SL fashion world what Black Swan inspired them to create.

We carefully selected an eclectic mix of content creators so everyone from Haute Couture Hannah to Casually Cool Cherie could find fashion that fit their tastes.  (Ok, those are silly, made-up personifications of different styles, but hopefully you get my drift!)  I chose the designs of HauntedZuzu Sorbet and Kouse Singh to show you exactly what I mean.

This year, all designers at the fair will donate 50% of one hair style to the charity. And of course, you can just donate without getting virtual hair in return on location too.

Hair Fair Activities

Of course, the organisation is as nice to not take your money and offer you 'just' prim hair in return. Together with the Hair Fair there are a lot of activities for your entertaining pleasures:
