One of the things I most enjoyed when I first joined SL was roleplay.  I participated in a number of types of roleplay, including, as you would imagine, any type accepting of elves.  Yes, as shocking as it may be to you, my gentle readers, there are some places that are not welcoming of the long ear'd kind *gasp*

For me, part of the attraction is dressing my avatar for the role she is in.  This helps get me in character and in the appropriate mood.  So I am always pleased when I find a shop that creates clothing for the roleplayer in all of us.  Viv Trafalger Outfitters is one such shop, catering to a variety of styles and roles.  I especially enjoyed just reading the descriptions of her work, clearly a very creative and imaginative mind.

Sometimes its the smallest things that make us happy.  In Second Life, for moi, two small things make me a happy consumer; when items come on all layers, and when multiple attachment points make sense, that the designer include these in your purchase.  Brandy Rasmuson  of Shine makes me very happy because she does this with her jewelry.  Here you can see, I am wearing both the choker and the necklace (and the bracelets) from her "Nereid" set which was for made for the Swan Song event., because, yes, for each item, she includes both the spine and the chest.  This also is wonderful when you are trying to work in jewelry with more ornate ensembles, as it sames you time (yes I am a lazy butt) from having to mod it to a different point yourself.  KK.. nuff gushing!

It is always a challenge to capture the beauty and detail of clothing when shooting, but even harder to portray the "essense" of a item with much depth and character. Perhaps the hardest challenge thus far of all the creations for the Swan Song event at The Black Swan, AvaGardner Kungler's "Oceania" gown from Kunglers Couture.

Knowing how much thought and effort Mr. Morrigan Denimore of The Black Canary, dedicates to each of his creations, I had to look up the meaning of Ephemeral.  He could not have chosen a better term to encompass his creation as well as the fate of The Black Swan Sim.

Most people think we are all a happy blogging family here at Rezzable, and for the most part we are. There are a few of us that don't get on though, and that usually isn't a problem. Until I needed both my girl Elusyve Jewell and my friend Ersatz Charisma to shoot the Laughing Academy dresses for Swansong. Because these two do not like each other AT ALL.The reasons why are lost in the mists of time, and I had nothing to do with any of it. *cough* But they both fill these gowns beautifully and were online, so they were paged and hauled into the studio.

Simplicity.. it never goes out of style.  Within simplicity you will find elegance and beauty.  It is said, that if you want to be truly heard, you should whisper rather than shout, and such is the essence of simplicity. 

Kelly Iwish's Gown “Elina“ from Elate illustrate this concept brilliantly.  This is a dress that doesn’t need to shout its presence when entering a room,  as eyes will be instantly drawn to it, and delighted as they further discover the lovely details which contribute to the overall impression.

My Look Obsessed via Elusyve this week (L.O.V.E.) is "The Quick Fix"

 It is a look in one's eye, the slight sheen of moist dew upon their brow, the slight twitch at the corner of their mouth, restless hands and fingers constantly moving and perhaps even a slight rocking motion overall....

All signs, to the untrained eye, mean little and even less when not considered as a whole.  Seen by someone who shares the signs, or has recovered from them and it might as well be flashing in neon above one's head.

Addiction...  the word can bring the best conversation to instant silence. 

Hai! As this is my very first Rezzable post, I apologize that it may have many more words than subsequent posts. I should start with a quick intro… My name is Elusyve and I am Elf. I also answer to lusy, E, and elu, although if you say elu outloud, it sounds like a virtual potty.  I am ok with that.

If I seem somewhat vaguely familiar, you may remember me from such Rezzable events as the FDS (Face of the Darklands search) as well as participating on the runway in several Fashion shows. I also have a couple blogs of my own,  but I jumped at the chance to contribute here at the Rezzable blog when Lokum asked me. Winning the FDS contest was a catalyst for me, the kick-start I needed to move away from my virtual shyness. I met so many creative and talent people that encouraged and inspired me via FDS. I even met new people to stalk * blows pug kisses at Prad * So its like full circle that almost exactly a year after winning FDS, I get to continue with Rezzable in a new challenge.

Last Saturday was the fashion show displaying new skins created for the Darklands by Draconic Kiss, the beautiful creations of Silent Sparrow, along with the new hot line from Poison Candy. And who better to model in this show than the Faces of the Darklands finalists?
