Stupid Cupid

You think you have it hard on Valentine's Day? Try being a business alt. I never get to do anything fun. Oh, sure - I get the best clothes on the grid when I get dragged out for blogging, but most of the time I just get stuffed back into inventory and left there to rot. Most alts get to do all the wicked stuff, participate in orgies, and frequent the sims that you wouldn't tell your SL Mom about. How I got the reputation for being a skank I'll never know. As for love? Forget it. Paisley Beebe of Treet TV has had a great idea, and a wonderful offer right now. For a donation to the studio of 3k she will read your message of love out live on air for all 20,000 viewers to see, and it will stay in cyberspace for all eternity. I'm not holding my breath - my owner is more in love with himself than he''ll ever be with me. *Sigh...*

2010 - Kali-Bhadra by SN@TCH

Ivey Deschanel of SN@TCH is one of the creators in Second Life that Rezzable is more than happy to invite back for every event. 2010 - The Future Is Now is her fifth time participating with us, and she has not once failed to bring something interesting, astonishing and intrinsically Ivey. She visited Egyptian mythology with her Bast avatar for the Digital Alchemy event in April '09, and now she has further explored tales of humanity's faith with her Hindu Goddess Kali-Bhadra - but has blown her out in the most cybernetic tentacular way possible.

Horned Haute

As part of my ongoing series of posts displaying the work of our 2010 - The Future Is Now creative team, I started this one after having watched the Lady Gaga "Bad Romance" video and had some ideas of making a look along the lines of her style. (That's why I have metres of leg hanging out here!) But after travelling from store to store I gave up on that idea, simply because the audacity and breadth of design available here in SL made me realise that we can be just as interesting and edgy yet true to our own styles without being clones.

Retro Space Princess A-Go-Go

By now you all know that the theme of the next big Rezzable fashion event is "2010 - The Future Is Now" and it's going to be spacey stuff - squeee! I love this idea; especially as I'm a fan of sci-fi, and the more classic the better. As cheesy as Star Wars is now, it has a lasting impact on every generation that watches it. Kids still run around with torches on their belts as light sabres, and apparently Princess Leia's gold bikini is still drooled over by geeks everywhere. And remember, Lost In Space was set in the then far-off year of 1997. So my look today is in tribute to the skimpy retro Space Princess look that you'll find in 70's space movies, and even more modern ones like LeeLoo's bandage costume in The Fifth Element.

Tiny Precious Mood Places

Shhh...   I have a secret. Several, actually. I now know what's going on with the new Rezzable fashion event that Winter is planning for January. And I know a few designers that are going to be in it. Some of them are my favourites. One of them makes me feel like a princess. Would you like to see?

Jori Watler of ~alaMood~ made the Alkahi Inferno rings and earrings that you can see me wearing in the top picture. I'm wearing the Jude II hair in Black Bean by Autumn Hykova of Tiny Bird, a hair maker that I just LOVE. And my butterfly shoulder companion was a Shoe Fair 08 gift from SakuraDawn Lei of Lazy Places.

Fetish Technotronic

Winter has been wandering around the last few weeks muttering. I think he's up to something, and I asked him when he was distracted. He gave me a long excited stream-of-conciousness answer, but the one word I did catch was "cyber." So I slapped him. Hard. As I told him "Me and you, sunshine - never gonna happen." He stopped and looked at me. He grinned. Then he said to "...wait until January. No one is going to know what hit them." Unless it was me, of course. At least I got one thing from that word "cyber" - it inspired my look today.

Grim Tales

One of the best things about fashion here in SL is that it can defy all laws of possible that restrict us in the everyday world. Fabric textiles can be replaced by anything you can dream up, gravity and physics need not apply. And one of the maestros of this field is Cutea Benelli of Grim Bros, previously known as Low Prim and Grim. Her outfits are breath taking, and are great for destroying, stripping down and working with. But I decided to show you some of her finished and complete ensembles so you can come up with your own visions. This one is the Automatic Peacock

It's so dramatic that I felt that hair just wasn't necessary for this...

Blue Blood Is Thicker Than Water

Ghanima Uriza of +++Blue Blood+++ has been a participant in every recent Rezzable fashion event. Her Florenzia dress in Black Swan - Winter Magic in January was a sensation, and pretty much walked off the shelves. Umm.. vendors. She created Mereret for the Ancient Egypt themed Digital Alchemy in April, and the dual male and female triumphs of her Oceanic Sonata was one of the highlights of the recent epic Black Swan -  Swansong. Besides this, I'm pleased to be able to say that she's one of the absolute nicest people in Second Life. So I'm proud to be able to highlight a few of her recent creations.

Rebel With A Hope

The big news that's shaken the designing world of SL today is the crime perpetrated against Rebel Hope and RH Engel, SL partners for over 5 years. I'm not going to bother to name the cretin who did it, or their pathetic attempts at justifying their actions. But I am going to highlight just how amazing Rebel's creations are.

Rebel has been a friend of Rezzable's for a long time; this outfit she made specially for us for the Mary Mayhem avatar. It's named Mary Fire Goddess. I loved this the moment I got it - it has a fire breathing torch with an animation, and a whip... you can see I had a hard time putting it down!

Cosmic Traveller - Helena Stringer's First Dress!

Helena Stringer of The Stringer Mausoleum has been a friend of Rezzable's for over a year now. She first collaborated with us on the fashion event "Inspired By Crimson Shadow." So far, she's been mostly known for her hairs. I'm never given the chance to forget this, as my friend Winter never shuts up about them. She also makes eyes and accessories like demon horns, but she has finally released a new dress, the Cosmic Traveller. Now this made me sit up and take notice!
