SL Ed Roundtable Meeting with Rightasrain Rimbaud

Yesterday, I have attended a roundtable discussion about Heritage Key and Open Sim at Montclair State University  sim grounds. For a copy of transcripts, please visit. Ignatius who is in RL , Joe Essid, University of Richmond Dept. of Rhetoric & Communication Studies has organised and led the roundtable with  Jon Himoff, CEO of Rezzable who is also know as RightasRain Rimbaud.

Regardless of the late hour of the roundtable it was extremely interesting. It gave a nice overall idea on the inspiration behind the content creation by Rezzable  in SL which started approximately 3 years ago, the reasons behind leaving Second Life and how Heritage Key commenced among all the other projects and where is Rezzable heading to with new projects.

Honour's View on Heritage Key

If you are enthusiastic about ancient worlds, artifacts and archeology as Honour is then you must read her latest blog  at Honour's Post Menopausal View about Heritage Key . As she says to visit us on Heritage Key is simple as couple of clicks away and is absolutely Free.

Saving Isis: Critical Thinking with Rezzable's Open Sim Tut

The South Wall

Location: Rezzable's Valley of the Kings in Open Sim

On my first tour of Rezzable's Heritage Key site dedicated to King Tut, and when the entire project was quite new, I was taken by the South Wall of the young king's tomb. It was an immersive moment; I felt that I was as close to the actual site in Egypt as I'd ever get.

King Tut Exhibit Round Up

Needless to say, Rezzable is pretty proud of the King Tut sim.  It's a sheer virtual wonder that really captures the essence of the Egyptian dig and the treasures found.  It seems this exhibit has inspired much of the SL blogosphere as well.   Since it's now closed (but you can go visit King Tut Virtual on the Heritage Key Grid), I want to present to you some excerpts, links, photos, and machinma from those of you that posted about the display. Additionally, I wanted to say a GREAT BIG THANK YOU from Rezzable for taking the time to write, photo or film.

"In grand Rezzable style, the experience includes a visit to the afterlife of Tutankhamen, his treasures transformed to giant size amid a constellation of stars and a walkway composed of DNA strands." - Sponsor Partner, Hamlet Au

The King Goes on the Open

King Tut Virtual Continues on the Heritage Key Grid

We are moving our King Tut Virtual special preview completely over to our Heritage Key grid today. We want to sincerely thank all the people that made it to the SL grid to see area and give us feedback. While the King Tut SL area is now closed, you can see even a more advanced preview on our OpenSim-based grid here. Come check it out and try to break it! (gently..that is).

If you go to the site and register an account, you will also notice that we are using the Imprudence viewer as the standard Heritage Key viewer.

Educators Discover King Tut

Iggy is leading the charge of "Team Tut" to help us understand how to make this virtual experience most relevant for educators. He has kindly posted some notes and suggestions here on his blog. Thanks!  Indeed, learning can be more fun and dynamic and these environments. In fact, check out this really cool graphic novel style that Viv Trafalgar made:

There are of course a lot of issues to make learning engaging. The opportunities for visual, multi-media enriched content are very exciting. Immersive, online, learning also has massive potential for interaction between people from around the world in real-time. We also are experimenting now with interactive queries to our database, er, things people can click and ask for info or drill-down.

The golden beauty - new Zaara Jewellery -

There has been wonderful releases lately and I must say I can't catch up with most of them but the last time I spent my Lindens was in the Zaara store. I said to myself I am probably the worst and the best shopper for some . The worst for myself, as  I spend without thinking and I have no patience but probably the best for the designer cause I will buy the whole lot .

Zaara Kohime has a new release of jewellery which I fell in love with. It's the sort of jewellery I would love to have in real life. I heard from Zaara that you can actually get these in real life. Next time I log in I need to discuss this in more detail so in the mean time I enjoy them SL . The ones in the phots are only a handful of this collection. There are many others very colorful ones so here I only chose the white and gold collection that goes so well with my gown again from Zaara. The beautiful avatar with shape and skin is the December model from Crimson Shadow.
