2010 - The Future is Now | SYSY's - GaGa Romama

Whenever we go, wherever we look, the future is alwayes present. It can be in small everyday work, like see you tomorrow or talk to you later. No matter what we do, we always do it planning ahead knowing that a tomorrow will come. The future exists in our linear conception of time and is yet to occur but it is there, not far. Could you go to sleep at time knowing that there will be no tomorrow...?

Our collective idea of future comes from the past. Decades ago, it was commom believe that the world would be cold, metallic, plastic, neon, vinyl, leather, latex, shiny, cyber. Well, I am still expecting to see it as crude as that. Meanwhile, some designers have shared with us their take for the future.

Swan Song - Water Nymph

Sometimes its the smallest things that make us happy.  In Second Life, for moi, two small things make me a happy consumer; when items come on all layers, and when multiple attachment points make sense, that the designer include these in your purchase.  Brandy Rasmuson  of Shine makes me very happy because she does this with her jewelry.  Here you can see, I am wearing both the choker and the necklace (and the bracelets) from her "Nereid" set which was for made for the Swan Song event., because, yes, for each item, she includes both the spine and the chest.  This also is wonderful when you are trying to work in jewelry with more ornate ensembles, as it sames you time (yes I am a lazy butt) from having to mod it to a different point yourself.  KK.. nuff gushing!

Swansong: Blind Love

 Blind Love I

Throughout the coverage of this event, mythology has found its place amongst discussion of color and cut. It's not terribly surprising- these ancient understanding of how the elements work have been with man as far back as we remember. At times, these legends speak more truth than science because of their raw, emotional cores. The tale of Aphrodite rising out of the ocean in a burst of sea foam may be compared to the rush of feelings that one feels when the arrow of passion hits. Though research can explain it away as biology and social nature, it cannot take away from the wonder of love's blindness with its strikes.

The Lady of Venus, however, certainly wouldn't turn a blind eye to SYSY's Waternymph gown.

Just a simple thank you ...

Lately, I have not been spending much time in Second Life and today I have realised how much I have missed it. The shopping, blogging, taking photos etc.

The first time I had to blog a fashion item I was terrified. First of all, I am not great with words, I don't know how to dress it up =) I just choose the simple, direct way when I communicate. But I do love taking photos and playing around with PS and creating an image.

At the end, I have this great appreaciation for wonderful bloggers that write extremely well, put together outfits in the most creative ways and always evolve ... Evolve in their way of writing, style, skills... It's a hell of a job and one must really enjoy it to give that daily effort and be there for the readers everyday .

So ... Simply .. I just wanna say simple  thank you to -

Sysy Chapman for sending me a wonderful present and most important as recognising my little effort in the fashion bloggers world.

Create your own Magic

What I love the most about designer SySy Chapman's creation for Winter Magic is its versatility, which leaves you with more than half a dozen ways to wear it. Apart from that, I think the pictures speak for themselves; the "Flakes in the Shadow" gown is absolutely stunning to behold. Actually, no amount of pictures will do it much justice, its one of those things that you need to see, touch and wear to really appreciate. The bodice and sleeves are beautifully embroidered with intricate silver snowflakes, which represent winter. The overall black color of the gown is symbolic of the Black Swan sim, while the versatility of the entire 14 piece dress, which transforms it into a new dress every time you play around with it, adds that "magical" quality to it.
