Sony and Microsoft commit to virtual world in 2008

AP reports from Japan electronics show now that:

Microsoft's service will be adapted to various nations, but people will be able to communicate with other Xbox 360 users around the world, according to the Redmond, Washington-based company.

Further the article adds In both Sony's and Microsoft's virtual worlds, players can personalize their avatars, choosing hairstyles, facial features and clothing. Akagawa said avatars will be able to dress up like heroes in hit video games.

Poll Results: Best thing in Secondlife is roll your own, can Linden grab the future?

Our readers/bloggers vote that best thing in Secondlife is the power to do you own thing--build or enhance the avatar. Roll your own mesh beats virtual sex...er...hands down. http://rezzable.com/poll/the-best-thing-about-sl

Lately, we have seen a lot of new virtual world platforms appear ( http://rezzable.com/blog/rightasrain-rimbaud/virtual-world-platforms-wat... )and the competition seems to be heating up. Nonetheless, the dedicated SL users (residents wtf) can sniff out the differences between the home we all love to hate and the newbie platforms stiff and bland. SL is like a dream still (ok sometimes nightmare) where you can roll your own virtual objects, build your own area--be a despot of your own realm.

Surfline's Maximillion Kleene Concert

Yesterday, June 5, 2008, we had a wonderful concert presented by Max Kleene. The opening show was by our very own Aerlinniel Vella, bringing us her wonderful mix of jazz. Then at 4pm SLT Max delighted our guests with his wonderful music. Definitely planning to book him again in the, hopefully, near future.

Leave it to newest release candidate to make my photos unusable, but luckily for me, sabra Hemingway took some great ones! Check them out here at Sabra's Flickr stream. As always, you can keep up to date with all the events Surfline offers by going to http://rezzable.com/calendar. See you at the next event!
