Where the Good Lord Split You

Ha!

I'm not surprised.

You refused to listen to anyone who said that you would have to have rentals and land development be part of any business of this nature -- 40 sims is a lot of tier to be eating every month.

You kept pissing on those of us who ran land development, sales, and rentals businesses and kept sneering at the concept of land as a commodity -- which of course, it is, even being Linden server space. You pissed on the Lindens regularly and often, too, despite them giving you top-notch FIC status with Showcase and Gateway.

You refused to sell popular content en masse -- you thought that if you sold edgy weird Matrix content that would keep you alive. It didn't.

By being so arrogant and nasty to everyone, and threatening builders even, you ensured that people just didn't want to send their customers to your destination, that may have increased content sales -- not that you arranged that well at all, with your excessive junkyard freebies, non-buyable art shows, and strange lingerie lol.

What's going to happen to all the builders that gave up their own businesses to work for you and your failing concept? That's my question. Sounds like they don't have jobs now.

You also refused to sell ad space openly to the community, or really, much of an any space or events rentals or anything of the kind, since you thought that was tacky culturally, and because you think there's some new social media formula that involves Chris Anderson's Free -- and you didn't read Malcolm Gladwell -- yet.

Free does not work. Free gets you lots of people who take stuff for free. It does not pay off in the form of advertising dollars or content sales on top of Free. It does not work.

All you are doing now is going to a place where your work tools for Free are somewhat less costly, but there isn't going to be the audiences or the ad buyers so it's a fail in advance.

Honestly, what will it take to have arrogant new-fangled media tycoons like you learn the lessons that old media learned the hard way for centuries before you?

If you can't get the subscriptions or individual tickets and ads to sustain you, you have to support the media business with some other revenue stream.

Say,  I hear Internet gold sales are back up again...
