Black Swan was an awe inspiring build, and probably the first sim I visited that made my jaw drop. I have fond memories of many nice moments spent on Surfline. Crimson Shadow was a sim I showed to many friends. I only recently enjoyed Tunnel of Light - when you started it, my hardware was not good enough to use it yet.
I have criticized you in the past, and stick to most of my criticism. But I also have defended you in the past and stick to it too. You definitely enriched Second Life, and while I hate to see you leave (and with you all the good folks in your wake, whose presence grew significantly less since they started to work for you), I am sure it is based on a well discussed and well thought-through commercial decision.
I don't share your enthusiasm for OpenSim though. I experimented with it, and these experiments made me realize how well SL actually works, and what a tremendous job Linden Lab does. Maybe it is just toothing pains OpenSim experiences right now, and maybe the power you can contribute will make them overcame the toothing pains faster. Who knows. I do agree however that for future corporate use, commercial clients will be more likely to look into OpenSim than into SL, so I hope you are on to something there.
I would have liked it if you would keep one sim and use it as showcase, recreating some of your more amazing builds for the residents who did not have the chance to see the full sims. Maybe something to consider...
Good luck, hope it works out the way you have hoped it will!
Thank you
