Take one of the most elegant and archaic symbols of fierce beauty in world history, then add a hypermodern skew on the concept, and send it out into the far reaches of the universe. This is what Monica Outlander of the design house Miamai has done with her twin triumphs CyberGeisha and CyberSamurai, created for the 2010 - The Future Is Now event at Greenies sim.

I've roped in my best friend and blog partner Summer Deadlight to help with these outfits again, you saw her in the Bare Rose blog of earlier this week. Believe it or not she isn't actually my alt... she just happens to make things look great. You can see in these pics that the CyberGeisha is so extraordinary it would be almost impossible to not look spectacular in it. It's a complete avatar, which includes the wild hair spilling off the head, tentacles arranged in it like ikkibana and the powdered skin with the dramatic makeup. The fan sends a spray of particle sakura blossoms every way you turn, adding to the coyness of the Geisha. It's worth it alone for the gown itself, though. The skirt is an artfully scattered array of swatches, some traditionally printed with chrysanthemums but others with the blood red leather of some creature unknown to Earth. The skirt pieces have both a glow and an electric flicker to them, making it a constantly moving work of art. The shape of the woman wearing it is enhanced by the corset which holds a metallic silver breastplate in place - just barely. (Rawr.) The perfect posture of the Geisha is further enforced here by the high silver ringed collar. Together all these elements combine to create a breathtaking display of cyberoriental feminity.

Don't think that the male counterpart is overshadowed by this plumage though. The CyberSamurai definately holds his own, and also comes complete with the kabuki skin. The spirit of Bushido is not lost in translation, it's just been enhanced and updated.

This oriental pair is one of the true highlights of the 2010 event, one of the items that made me gasp when I took them out of the box. The are absolutely perfect for photography and roleplay - Monica's brother owns Tempura sim, so it was the perfect place to shoot this - but it's also something that you can just put on, and know that you are going to be the most dazzling creature at any event you turn up at.Apparently I'm being forced to wear the Cybergeisha - yes ma'am, you heard right - to the Spaceball party that's on at 7pm this Saturday night. There's more to follow about that in my next post, so stay watching the Rezzable blog for this. It's going to be just over 2 hours of sparkly cybertastic fun. The 2010 - The Future Is Now event finishes on the 3rd of February, so if you've been thinking of getting any of the items you've seen on the blogs don't hesitate, especially as some of them will be exclusive and limited editions for this show only.
