Wait - TributeTim Kwak: Rasta Machinima Orientation is basically straightforward documentation of the work referred to above (Orientation by Nebulosus Severine and Arahan Claveau). This means that all of the heavy lifting in terms of casting, costumes, sets, design, and plot come from Severine and Claveau, not from Kwak. If I videotaped a RL stage play and then submitted the video to a competition without asking permission of the actors, costume designers, author of the play, director, and so on, it would be the same thing,
Kwak is certainly allowed to film anything he/she likes to, but to submit that video to a competition without the artist's permission seems artistically suspect to put it nicely; a complete rip-off to put it more flatly. If Severine and Claveau don't want to be associated with this festival, I think it is imperative on the organizers to pull this entry.
