Facebook is currently testing a new shopping experience which allows users to purchase directly from business Facebook pages. This new shopping feature will allow retailers to now turn their Facebook pages into miniature stores. The trial is being run by Facebook and a handful of e-commerce and retail companies.
For those accessing these pages via mobile devices, the new shopping features will appear in a new shopping section on the page. If using a desktop, the shopping section will be visible r as a separate tab shown on the same area where the other tabs such as the Timeline, About, Photos and tabs are currently located.
For the new shopping section, companies can show off products in a format which is similar to the way that photographs are laid out. It will be up to retailers whether transactions take place through Facebook or customers are redirected to the Company’s Website.
