Miss Cyberpink, aka Amanda Shinji first entered the realms of SecondLife back in December 2006 when one of her favourite bands, Long Range, were due to perform a live gig in the metaverse. She signed up, created her avatar and the rest is history. Unfortunately, due to technical issues, the gig was cancelled and rescheduled, meaning she missed it, but she decided to hang around in SL and carve a bit of a name for herself.
Being a music junkie, she soon hooked up with RL friends DJNoNo Ulysses and Andy Asylum, who at the time owned the Parkade club on Pontiac's old Motorati Island. She started her SL DJ career and soon became a resident DJ there at the old Parkade club, spinning all kinds of electronica on a Thursday night. Within a few months, Andy found it harder and harder to focus on the Parkade club and sadly it closed it's doors in April 2007 but underwent a total rebuild and reopened again in May 2007 with Amanda as the new owner. As well as being a club owner, Amanda also increased her status in the SL DJ heirarchy, rising to become one of the most respected female DJs in SL. She entered the 2008 Iron DJ competition as organised by Club Republik and progressed through each round, to win the overall title as decided by a panel of select judges, which is no mean feat, considering the opposition she was up against. She's also DJed at several A list SL events such as the Maxim party with Callie Cline, SecondPride 2008 and others. Often in demand, she's one of the leading lights in the SL DJ scene.
Amanda is very much a stalwart of the electronica music genres, spinning electro, trance, breaks, acid house, progressive, drum n' bass, mashups and more. She tends to stick to one genre per set, but isn't adverse to mixing it up and wreaking sonic havok. She has the ability to drop brand new tracks alongside guaranteed floorfillers and with the mashup elements, she can also slip in a few surprises. She's an accomplished producer too, with remixes and mashups to her name and is just as comfortable creating the music with Reason, Ableton Live, Rebirth etc. as she is DJing it out with the Traktor pro DJ software.
Back in the real world, Amanda is a 25yr old clubbing minx from London, England... Even at the age of 25, she's a hardened gig addict and clubber and has spent many weekends dancing the night away at Fabric, Turnmills, Ministry of Sound and further afield such as Air in Birmingham, Sankey's in Manchester and Nation in Liverpool. She has impeccable taste both in SL and RL and her finger is always on the pulse.
