Dreams Lightcloud is one of the 'anciens' of the Second Life virtual world. Dreams first heard about SL in March of 2003. She was a beta tester. She was invited to come to SL by several LL employees. The reason was that she was known as a popular clothing designer in another 3d virtual world. At that time, her computer could not run SL smoothly so she abandoned that account. In May 2004, she was asked to come to SL again. The idea was that through her art she could help to make the game look better. It was a world beautification process that ended up bringing in many of the famous designers that SL has today. Dreams has lived and worked in several virtual worlds before coming to stay in SL.
Dreams first DJ gig in SL was at a very popular hangout in the early days of SL called Phantasie Isle. It was the first place that she called home in SL. Although, she had other online experiences with DJ'ing previous to SL, it was at PI that she got her start within SL. Dreams favorite musical genres encompass a vast array of delights. Her tastes range from Alternative Rock to Punk, Dance/Techno to Ambient, Rock to Metal, and the list goes on. She tries to make a set that will appeal to the community that the venue will draw.
In SL, DJ'ing is Dreams' trade. Therefore, she puts alot into the art of making the sounds blend and to move her audience. She is there to help the audience to have a good time! We asked Dreams about her favourite Rezzable sim: 'Tunnel of Light !! *grins* Because they gave me a nice purple club to live in :)'
Along the way, Dreams somehow become the voice of SL instead of working on her graphical art. But, then, who says that it is only graphical art that beautifies our world? She was drawn to the sounds, to the crowds, and to the fun of SL's nightlife.
In 2004, she ran the most popular club in SL, at the time. It was called Gravity Space Station. It was built by Jimmy Thomson and owned by Foxy Xevious of Bedazzle. Because of this, Dreams became one of the first commercial voices in SL. Her voice was paid for and used in Gravity's original entry way. She sold out *grins*. And with that one decision, her voice was heard by the hundreds of visitors that came to see the spectacular Gravity Space Station. It was her voice that welcomed them into Gravity Space Station and asked them to turn on their local lighting. And, then they would travel down the spaceship's long hallway into the main dancing area. They would soon forget about their warm welcome as they were to be delighted by Live DJ's all day long!
Soon to follow, SL's most favorite DJ at the time, Dominik Bauer started to produce the first resident commercials to air on various SL radio stations and/or in clubs during events. Together Dominik and Dreams were the first voices on those commercials, making for a little bit more of SL history.
Fast forward into the present, Dreams is still very active in entertaining the masses in SL. She became the manager for Rezzable's Club Haze in the Tunnel of Light sim in April 2008. Club Haze runs from 10am to 4pm SLT daily with special events on top of that. Come on over to Club Haze anytime and Get the Glow!!
