Virtual DJ Santos Dagger - André, 33 years old and from real life Germany - rezzed in Second Life 16 months ago. Bored with all those others MMORPGs, Mr Dagger joined Second Life because he figured SL would be more about meeting and relaxing than the old RPG treadmill. And was he right! Although Santos is not completely loyal to Second Life - he keeps tyring out all new online stuff, focussed on gaming in particular - he keeps returning to Second Life as exploring different music styles and listening to other virtual DJs perform is one of his favourite things to do in-world. And as most clubs only play mainstream music or 'goth', he decided to do a noble thing, and share his music collection with the virtual crowd.
For offline mixing Santos uses eJay DJ Mixstation, as he did try SAM but was not entirely happy with it's features. For streaming the latest WinAMP with some personal adjustements gets used. Santos Dagger is hooked to bass and more bass but anything that inspires him - preferably with good lyrics - goes too. EBM, industrial and aggrotech. Santos does like to add that in general, musical genres are much discussed but really overrated. When asked about his favourite crowd, it looks like Mr Santos is not to demanding: 'People that like goth often enjoy some Industrial tunes too. I try to play requests and have a nice chat with people too if there is time, but best crowd are those who know some songs and give me some good requests, fitting Tokyo Hotel in between Combichrist and Suicide Commando is not easy.'
DJ Santos Dagger's favourite SL related quote:
Fozzie: How did you get here?
Waldorf: We entered a contest.
Statler: Yeah! We lost.
