'The 61' at Gardenstock

Gardenstock - T61 Party - ProgramVote for your favourite virtual live music performance & reward your fav musician with 10 000 L$, a Greenies Avatar of his/her choice and a paid gig on a Rezzable Sim. (Of course, votes will not be accepted before saturday! ;)) Votes that count must be made between Saturday June 7th, 8AM SLT and Monday June 9th, 8AM SLT.

Music in the virtual world is thriving: lot's of DJ's, great parties and awesome Live Performances which you can attend regardless what 'real world' continent you inhabit. Just like the internet, this offers musicians the opportunities to get their songs heard by a much broader public, gaining new fans and feedback from people they would probably else never reach. The virtual world added another aspect to that: interaction. Although there is that '20 seconds delay' between what the artist plays and when the audience hears it due to the streaming, this is still an awesome thing. Artist can see - and hear - their virtual audience applaud, dance, faint and rezzing panties on the stage.

The 61 'Bump Group'

One of the most active musical groups is 'The 61 Music Group'. This group exists out of musicians using both Second Life as well as The SixtyOne website to promote their music. Such a smart - and organised - use of Real World, Virtual World and a lineup of performances that 'would not be possible IRL' makes that they get their own, special day at the Garden of NPIRL Delights Garden Stock festival.

Saturday the 7th of June the stage is all theirs! We're honoured to have such nice 'gang' to do the kick off for the Gardenstock festival. A big 'woot!' goes to Suka Nishi for organising all this.

The Line Up

The Stage and How To Get There

Gardenstock - Music StageRob Balder, Madcow Cosmos and a few other geniuses designed a very NPIRL stage, filled with little 'develish' music and party fanatics. All Gardenstock performances will take place on that stage on 'Rezzable Design'. We enabled direct TP, so clicking here puts you on the front row where you can enjoy the show the best. We also stream the music to the 3 other Garden of NPIRL Delights sims - Explore, Create and Discover - so more people can enjoy the music. This also creates the possibility to explore the Garden Builds whilst listening to great live music!

Guestbook Functionality Enabled

At the Gardenstock stage we will set up a 'magical guestbook'. If your avatar is registered with rezzable.com, this guestbook enables you to send comments directly to this 61 music artist's page, using only a few in-world clicks. So if you want to say 'Oh, my god, this was a great show!' and the comment to be preserved for the artists so they can check on it later, this is the way to go.

The Musicians

More information about the music artists. If you can't wait until Saturday 7th to listen to their music, follow the links to their respective profiles on thesixtyone.com. They all uploaded a few songs for you to enjoy.

Soundcircel Flanagan

(Back to Line-Up)

I've been playing guitar for about 30 years now ( god, i must be old *lol* ). I played in several bands, did my partying on ( and off ) stage, but then discovered for myself that music is a thing that I do best without limitations of a band. So I learned myself to play bass and keys, bought some nice toys ( euhhh equipment ) and here we are...

All tunes are written and performed by me, recorded in my own little studio. In Sl i am also known as "Trouble in da House"( thanks Foxy for naming me ) but im a cute harmless person ????

Dolmere Talamasca

(Back to Line-Up)

He's the hottest skeleton in the virtual world, and the only one that can do 'Basstastic Perversions'. Dolmere Talamasca is a resident of Second Life who has worn many hats since his account creation in September of 2005. He's been a volunteer and greeter at The Shelter. He has built game shows, hosted game shows and booked live music at The Shelter and The Shelter in Swinside. He's been a vendor with free items from his Building Shelter game show, inexpensive T-Shirts and more.

Dolmere's most recent endeavor is as a live musician strictly within the virtual world of Second Life. Dolmere uses GarageBand to pre-record backing tracks with his bass guitar and sings live over the top of that. By recording multiple tracks he is able to "round out the sound" of a song with an instrument that is not typically used in solo performances.

Towards the end of 2006 he decided to look into the idea of performing solo shows with just his voice and his bass guitar. He started listening for and making notes of songs that would be best "basstastically perverted" or performed with a few bass tracks while still managing to convey the meaning of the original piece. Around the middle of May in 2007 Dolmere started performing his live shows in Second Life. He's been adding songs and friends since then.

Mimi Carpenter

(Back to Line-Up)

Salut, I am French...living currently in Germany...started playing the guitar AND singing more "seriously" since September 2006... Acoustic style, just because I don't have any other means.

My brand new and first original is called "You Never Know" (January 2008)...I worked on it with my good friend Raspbury Rearwin, awesome songwriter you all need to check out... if I could handle words as he does...I'd be so glad. He just analysed and find the exact words I needed... I made the music, totally inspired by the text.... Always working on..."stuff" ^^

Kaklick Martin (Bryan Baker)

(Back to Line-Up)

Bryan Baker (or his virtual persona Kaklick Martin) makes some music that can be best described as the honkey tonk meets the metaverse, in the album "Roadhouse Ranch and Saloon" he sprinkles ideas like cybersex, furries and pose balls right along with the sawdust, traditional and futuristic at the same time. He also offers straight ahead rock along with social and political commentary in his album “Big Bad World”.

Kaklick took the stage in Second Life for the first time back in late 2005, so he is among SL’s veteran performers and an early evangelist for the live music scene.

Quinton Whitman (RL Tallan White)

(Back to Line-Up)

Tim White (Quinton Whitman in Second Life), his style is some what unigue style has been shaped by a myriad of influences - from the traditional Appalachian mountain music and storytelling of his grandparents and artist such as Woddy Guthrie; to the bluegrass and country music that surrounded him growing up by such as Doc Watson and Johny Cash; to the folk and political songs of singer/songwriters like Muddy Waters, Pete Seager, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, David Bromberg and Crosby, Stills & Nash that inspired me in his teens; to the intricate, haunting picking styles if an assortment of artists. I spent 4 years performing country with the Flaherty Brothers Band, a 12 year jaunt with the jass/fusion band Still Portrait, then 5 years with the rock band The Ride.

Born in the the mountain state of West Virginia, he began playing guitar when he was 12 years old. Though he always continued to play guitar, for most years he was primarily known as a bass player - transiting from rock to country to jazz back to rock.

His first love though was, and is, the guitar and he has returned to it full force when heI discovered the virtual world of Second Life and began streaming in live shows as a solo performer.

Juel Resistance

Suzen JueL a.k.a. JueL Resistance, is a self taught musician who has been performing since 1979. She has perfected the weaving of her mind's eye and heart's passion into lyrical paintings richly embedded with emotional hues from her personal experiences.

Her lyrics feed the listener's soul and stirs the heart and sentiment of any who have been privileged to hear her perform them. Suzen "JueL" Resistance's creative roots are deeply entrenched in a family of french musicians, artists and writers. Her Grampa Jule made a guitar in 1967,that he later gave her when she showed a keen interest in music. With her newfound passion she began writing and playing at every opportunity. JueL moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1989 and enjoyed ten amazing, successful years playing at The Fine Line, The Loring Bar, Club Metro and numerous other cafes and coffeehouses.

She recorded her first CD during that era and with high hopes waited for her star to rise. Soon after, she met and married her soulmate and became a stepmom to his 4 awesome boys who lived with them. As often happens in life, her ambitions were pushed to the back as she became a wife and mother to her new family. Years later with the boys grown, she found herself tickling the guitar strings once again.

Her style and sound have been compared, both lyrically and vocally, to such legendary greats as Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams, Sue Foley, Leonard Cohen, Janis Joplin, Mazzy Star, Curt Cobain as well as a generous handful of other talented acoustic musicians. As one of the first indie musicians to join and perform in Second Life, she has built a strong presence in the virtual world. A world where she is also known for her visual art work; her paintings, drawings and photography are displayed in various galleries throughout Second Life.

In addition, she owns and performs at the infamous "Living Room #13" where she has headlined and hosted Naked Acoustic Sessions for almost 2 years, bringing in only the finest seasoned and raw musicians of SL. JueL is currently working on her latest CD while preparing for her 2nd adventure to Mahoneyfest in Georgia. Her latest work in progress is a compilation of both recent and past experiences blended soulfully into a deep groove of blues, americana, folk and "unplugged acoustics". To listen to and support JueL's music you can find her web presences at TheSixtyOne.com and MySpace. You can also hear her perform live in Second Life by searching in-world for "Juel Resistance", "Dirty Pirate Whores" her fan club, and/or "Living Room #13". In addition, you can find more photos, podcasts, news, stories, art and information by performing a Google search on "JueL Resistance".

Writing down important

Writing down important moments before I forget them. Soundcircel was good, Mike00 too, also if we could only hear him and not see him become LL took Design sim down. And then we totally confused Babblegrabble with three possible stages. But he gave away an awesome gig anyway. We went to one of the art builds, and actually suited well there.

Thank you Gwen, for helping

Thank you Gwen, for helping me with that second stage! Dolmere & mimi were superb, as usual... . Kaklick I missed. Whilst the Virtual Live Band was playing LL would not let me in-world. :(((((( ' Databases overladed' whatever that may be.

Heard the last songs from the

Heard the last songs from the relaycast: wooot! Quinton Whitman has a great voice, and Suka is now taking a deserved short time-out. Neil Morrison is on stage sing 'for you know it all your troubles are gone...'. Kinda summarises this day. Fun and joyfull, despite all the 'technical issues'. I wonder what is still up. It will be my first time seing Juel Resistance. Should I admit to being a bit nervous for that even? ;)

Feeling rezzablicious!
