Candy Cerveau

Candy Cerveau Portrait

Candy Cerveau dropped into the world of Second Life in January of 2006 after reading about a working version of The Metaverse from Neal Stephenson's novel Snow Crash.  Since she was fairly computer/gaming savvy, she adapted to the complex workings of Second Life quickly and spent the first few months participating in various RP sims and exploring interesting locations.  She took as many building classes as she possibly could and dabbled in building all sorts of things before settling on the same occupation as in her real life - jewelry.  She had a natural inclination for working small - and a desire to produce well crafted and well textured work.  She uses mostly custom made and exclusive textures and has embraced the new sculpted prims with joy, as to her they impart a realism and organic feel that is hard to match.  Candy still enjoys torturing regular prims though and they hold an important place in her work.

Candy opened her business "Eye Candy" in late 2006 and while she was looking for ways to promote her items, she stumbled upon the fashion industry blogs, groups, and shows.  This lead to a giant surge in her inventory and a focus for her work.  She expanded her area several times and finally made the leap to her own sim in August of this year. Her main store is in Emerald City on the new sim Magic of Oz, a theme build based on the Oz books of L Frank Baum.

Her style varies with her mood but most of her current work focuses on classic and elegant pieces and jewelry with a natural and organic look.  Candy loves to take inspiration from historical jewelry styles and techniques to create unique and wearable pieces. She especially loves the ancient Greek and Renaissance time periods and is working on jewelry lines inspired by those eras.

So as not to mislead you into thinking all is serious in Candy-land - she presents her favorite quote from Hamlet Au: "...If your Mom is into SL, she's probably hanging out in one of these Popular Places right now, and you don't really want to see what kind of animated moves she's busting in there.  Seriously."  Truer words were never said.
