JDiva Ophelia

JDiva Ophelia Portrait

Rezzed on February 18, 2006, JDiva Ophelia immediately immersed herself in content creation experimentation.  From the moment she first accidentally wore a box on her head she has been obsessed with trying to make that headbox look like she meant to do that.

Quirky obsessions spur JD in all of her SL endeavors.  As curator of Great Masters Public Domain Art Gallery  JD is peeved by distorted art textures so she showcases classic art to simulate RL size and scale by using of all things - math.  ARC Rehab is her latest project coming from a recent obsession with avatar rendering costs and a long struggle with lag hatred.

By far her most obsessive obsession is Masquerade Parade which opened in February 2006 to provide avatars with something to wear on their face.  Leaning over her Wacom tablet heavily zoned into Photoshop JD has created 100s of masks and accessories best described as beautiful, weird, beautifully weird, or weirdly beautiful.  As she works she is surrounded by 30ish or 40ish RL ceramic, fabric, brass and paper mache masks - a collection she has been building for decades.  A RL comedian and community theater activist, JDiva loves the historical commedia del arte and theatrical mask work.  The beauty of the Carnivals of Venice and Mardi Gras inspire her.  She is fascinated by the psychological concept of wearing masks and sees the anonymity of the virtual world as the ultimate mask.
