Sofia London

Sofia London, owner and the designer behind the store named lurveBite, arrived in the virtual world two years ago.  After mastering and getting bored with furniture building and texture creation, she moved towards her greatest challenge, creating clothing.

The results were completely unexpected.  In a few short weeks she went from t-shirts and jeans to designing a fantastic Red Velvet Cake Dress set.  That was the first in the Fashionable Food Couture Collection from lurveBite.  From there lurveBite has grown to include other food themed clothing and fantasy outfits ranging from the Fire Fly Dress, Black Mesh Ballerina, Toast Breads for your mouth, and even Teddy Bears you can hold made with sweets.

Inspirations for her designs range from food, textures on fabrics, simple color palettes, nature, space, movies, tv shows, art work, modern furniture, history and all things kawaii.   How do all these ideas come to life? Sofia says it's due to a lot of sketching, day dreaming, and thought.  Moving a concept from 2D to 3D involves working in Photoshop and other programs to creating base textures, then working in Second Life to make the 3D shapes come together.

Sofia is a bit shy and introverted and usually doesn't talk much.  However, you can get a glimpse into her world via her flickr photo album: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sofialondon/

Sofia London collaborates closely with her friend and neighbor MiaSnow Myriam owner of the shop MIASNOW.   They share a blog named "MiaSofia the Blog" (http://miasofia.wordpress.com), and an in-world group for shop news you can join named "MiaSofia".   To see photos of their creations in action, check out MiaSofia on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/groups/miasnowsabode/
